It is unfortunate but we have had to adopt the following Client Code of Conduct, effective immediately, due to our staff having to deal with a few clients' inappropriate behavior. This type of behavior is upsetting for the staff and undermines our ability to retain staff while trying to continue our goal to provide care for our clients' pets. Please be kind, all of us are here because we want to help care for your pets - without staff we will not be able to do so.
NCVC’s Client Code of Conduct
Beyond providing high quality of care for all patients, our mission is to create a safe and engaging environment to develop and retain a skilled team, which only serves to reinforce patient care. Considering the recent behavior of some and the need to care for the team, we will no longer allow these behaviors to continue. Our relationship is based on mutual trust and respect, effective immediately, a No Tolerance Policy regarding abusive or disrespectful behavior toward our team members will be enforced. Clients or potential clients who participate in any of the following actions/behaviors will no longer be provided services at our facility. We understand emotions often run high but being respectful to someone who just wants to help your pet is reasonable.

To our valued clients:
This is still very true: We are continuing to work with limited staffing. The current state of the veterinary industry is such that veterinarians, and veterinary staff are in high demand, accompanied by very limited supply. This is affecting all parts of the industry, from small general practitioners, like our practice, to emergency clinics and specialty practices.
We continue to be dedicated to providing high quality veterinary care to our clients and their pets.
As we work hard to provide your pet’s care, please be sure to show up for your appointment at your appointed time. In most instances we will not be able to accommodate appointments that show up late. If you can’t make your appointment time please let us know as soon as possible. No show appointments when being rebooked will be required to pay a non-refundable fee to schedule an appointment. Please avoid not showing up for your appointment without notice – there is a pet waiting for that spot.
At times, which will be kept to a minimum, we may need to close to allow for lunches or much earned and needed staff vacation time.
Please be patient, and persistent😊, when calling the clinic as the phone line will be busy. Our staff has to handle many calls as well as assist with appointments and medication refill requests, so again please be patient and kind. Afternoons may be the best time for phone calls.
Medication refills should be called in at least 4-5 days in advance.

For updates and timely topics
Emergencies
Our office provides during hours emergency coverage for our clients' pets. To allow our staff to have time with their families, after hours emergency coverage, starting at the close of our business day, is provided by the Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital (VESH) in South Deerfield, MA (413) 665-9111 or the Veterinary Emergency Center of Manchester (NH) (603)666-6677. While we realize Manchester, NH is a bit of a drive we have been very pleased with their timeliness at seeing our clients as well as the care they provide. After hours our answering service will direct your emergency call to the proper place. In certain cases where we feel that your pet needs more specialized treatment than we can provide you may also be directed to take your pet to VESH or another specialty hospital.

Laser Therapy
Therapeutic low intensity laser therapy (also known as cold laser) is a highly effective treatment for many conditions such as soft tissue injuries, arthritis, pain, muscular strains, ear infections, moist dermatitis ("hot spots"), and certain other conditions.
Laser therapy increases circulation, decreases inflammation, improves wound healing, decreases pain and can have antimicrobial effects in certain cases. Some cases require just one or two treatments while others, especially chronic conditions, may require more treatments. Treatments are done on an outpatient basis and generally last an average of 2-5 minutes, while some larger areas may require longer time, up to 15-20 minutes. Your pet's treatments will be cusomized by our veterinarians based on your pet's condition. Treatment effects are cumulative and usually the treated area feels better immediately or within 12 to 24 hours.
We strongly believe in the healing power of laser therapy and because of this, all of our elective surgeries (spays, neuters and declaws) are given a laser treatment immediatley post-op.
Talk with our veterinarians and staff to see if your pet might benefit from laser therapy. You can also view a video about therapeutaic laser at http://youtu.be/Sn0e28bCOJY
